News in brief: Digital Networks invests in Endeca

Digital Networks, the pan-European venture capital firm, has invested in Endeca, the US database technology firm.

The deal marks Digital Networks' third investment from its digital infrastructure fund. It was the only European investor in the funding round. Other investors were Bessemer, Venrock and Ampersand. Steven Schlenker, managing partner at Digital Networks, said: &quotWe are confident the guided navigation of data that Endeca facilitates will enable Endeca to continue winning customers away from traditional search companies.&quot In December 2001, Digital Networks co-led a $9m (€10.2m) investment with Vision Capital and Battery Ventures in MoreMagic, a Finnish billing systems firm.
