News in brief: Environmental data tied to voting advice

Research Recommendations and Electronic Voting (RREV), a share voting advisory company, will incorporate environmental research from Trucost, a sustainability research organisation, into its voting recommendations for UK institutional investors. RREV is a joint venture set up by the UK's National Association of Pension Funds and Institutional Shareholder Services of the US, the world's largest proxy voting company. Trucost's research will include companies' top 10 environmental impacts, peer group comparisons and an assessment of the quality of disclosure.
