FirstStage Capital, the corporate finance house which specialises in securing funding for early stage technology companies, has appointed David Sexton and Michael Clark to its advisory board.
They will provide technology expertise and industry advice to assist FirstStage Capital and its portfolio clients. Sexton, who is a former president of global markets at Cable and Wireless, brings experience of working with start-up companies to his advisory role. Clark is currently principal technologist for Unilever Research, having previously held senior positions in the electronics industry and government research and development. He has experience in materials and semi-conductor research and development, as well as business and management skills. Jason Purcell, chief executive of FirstStage Capital, said the appointments provide "an opportunity to deepen our technology expertise, and to broaden our access to technology networks".
