News in brief: German internet company raises €10m

dooyoo AG, an internet company based in Berlin, has raised €10m ($8.8m) in third round funding.

The company, which operates a pan-European internet portal targeted at consumers, raised the money from existing investors 3i and Earlybird Venture Capital, as well as first-time investors CNET Networks and Syntec Capital. The new funds will enable it to focus on its advertising, market-research, e-commerce and content sales business, as the company hopes to become profitable from the fourth quarter of 2000.
