W Brooks Harris, head of convertible origination for Morgan Stanley in New York, has joined Deutsche Banc Alex Brown, just months after the US bank lost David Ballard to Credit Suisse First Boston.
Harris and Ballard were co-heads of US convertible origination at Morgan Stanley until Harris was promoted to the sole head last December. Ballard subsequently joined CSFB in April as head of equity-linked markets for the Americas. Harris now joins Deutsche as managing director and head of convertible origination for the Americas. He reports to Doug Baird, Deutsche's head of equity capital markets for the region, and will be based New York.
