Newton Investment Management, a subsidiary of Mellon Financial Corporation, has appointed Lianne Hack as an assistant fund manager within its Asian team.

Hack joins the firm from Sun Life of Canada Asset Management, where she was responsible for managing two unit trusts and one general insurance fund totalling £50m (€81.4m). She will assist in the portfolio management of the firm's Oriental Fund and the Newton Universal Growth Fund Asian Share Class.
