News in brief: Voting levels stay flat

The level of shareholder proxy voting at UK companies has remained static, despite the furore generated this year over votes on executive pay.

Manifest, the advisory firm, say voting levels at FTSE 100 companies have remained unchanged at about 49% in 2003. "This is despite the increased spotlight on company meetings following the introduction of the mandatory remuneration report resolution," says Manifest.
