News in brief: Willkie sets up in Brussels

Willkie Farr & Gallagher, the US-based law firm, has bought Dieux & Associes, a Belgian law firm, to give it a much wanted Brussels practice.

Dieux & Associes specialises in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, securities, commercial litigation, business reorganisation and restructuring. Xavier Dieux, founding partner of Dieux & Associes, has become a Willkie partner. Jean-Quentin De Cuyper and Didier Willermain have become special European counsel. Willkie is keen to boost its European presence, and in the past couple of years it has opened up offices in Frankfurt, Milan and Rome. The firm also has offices in Paris, London, New York and Washington DC.
