Citigroup's wealth division is awaiting news on a successor to its former head Mike Corbat, following confirmation that he will become permanent chief executive of Citi Holdings, a clutch of business units earmarked for possible sale.

Corbat, a Citi veteran of 25 years, has been interim chief executive of Citi Holdings since January and his appointment was made permanent yesterday.
