Matthew Weir has joined NewSmith Asset Management, the fund management arm of NewSmith Capital Partners, as head of risk and control.

He is responsible for risk measurement, management and control for NewSmith's investment management business, which covered both traditional long-only and alternative strategies. He will also be a partner in the firm.
