OVS Capital, a European event-driven hedge fund, has appointed Nick McEwen as a partner to oversee its sales and marketing efforts. McEwen joins from US seeding firm Revere Capital Advisors where he was a managing director and established its London office with responsibility for the European sales and marketing effort.

OVS was launched in October 2010 and has grown to just under $70m. Sam Morland, the founder and chief investment officer, spent 10 years at HBK, the multi-billion dollar Dallas-based hedge fund. Between 2005 and 2008, Morland was chief executive of the London office and was appointed HBK's first non-American partner in January 2006.
