Nomura hires former BNP Paribas trader for senior FX role

Japanese investment bank Nomura has hired a former senior trader at French lender BNP Paribas to head currencies trading in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Asa Attwell is joining Nomura as its head of Emea foreign exchange and emerging markets, according to a memo seen by Financial News. The trader started earlier this week, according to a person close to the bank. He quit BNP Paribas in June 2017, his LinkedIn profile shows, having joined the bank in 2001.
