Nomura opens New York trading floor

The department includes 430 professionals with a seating capacity to expand to more than 600 positions

Nomura Securities International opened its new equity-trading floor in New York and launched its US stock-research coverage, continuing its push to gain market share in the Americas.

The Japanese company, which has been expanding its US presence in fixed-income, sales and trading, and investment banking over the past few years, said the department includes 430 professionals, with seating capacity to expand to more than 600 positions.
