Nomura has continued the expansion of its equities business in the US, making four hires to its electronic trading business, despite the bank experiencing a wave of departures in Europe and Asia.
The Japanese bank said in a statement that it has made four US appointments. They are Joe Sokolowski, head of principal risk trading; Mark Govoni, head of US program sales-trading and index analytics; William O'Brien, who will lead the quantitative advisory effort while also continuing in his role as a sales-trader; and Gerald Casey, head of the international portfolio sales team in New York.
