Norway moves closer to private equity decision for $1tn fund

Norway's finance ministry is a step closer to deciding whether to allow the country's $1trn sovereign wealth fund to invest in private equity, after the fund's manager came out in favour of a gradual approach.

Whether or not to allow the Government Pension Fund Global, which is under the overall responsibility of the finance ministry, to broaden its investment remit to unlisted equity has been a topic given regular attention in recent years.
