Norway's two pension providers for public sector pensions Kommunal Landspensjonskasse (KLP) and Statens Pensjonskasse are likely to face more competition in the future.
A consultation paper on how to increase competition and make public sector pensions more flexible is expected to go to Stortinget, the Norwegian parliament, in three months time. The paper suggest opening up KLP, the main provier for local authority pensions with Nkr80bn (󌌺bn), and Statens Pensjonskasse, the government employee pension provider, for competition.
