Merrill Lynch has re-shaped its European M&A coverage with the appointment of Pierro Novelli head of Europe and Kevin Smith to a new role as head of the UK.

Both will report to Philip Yates, head of European, Middle East and Asia corporate banking, and Steve Baronoff, head of global M&A.
