NYSE Group, the parent of the New York Stock Exchange, is considering expanding in Asia once it has completed its $10.2bn (€8bn) merger with Euronext, according to its chief financial officer.

Nelson Chai told investors on the sidelines of a securities conference in New York yesterday that expansion in Asia is a "logical next step" for the Big Board.
