NYSE lobbies to end Nasdaq reporting business

The New York Stock Exchange has enlisted political support to block Nasdaq's attempt to retain its lucrative off-exchange reporting business once it receives full exchange status.

The NYSE has lobbied a number of lawmakers over details of Nasdaq's plan to become a fully operational exchange by mid June. Nasdaq's intentions were made public in a memo sent to traders last week.
