NYSE opens doors to stocks from rival exchanges

Change allows Nasdaq-listed securities and US ETFs to be traded on the NYSE’s flagship exchange

NYSE opens doors to stocks from rival exchanges

The New York Stock Exchange has ended a decades-old restriction that prevented stocks listed on rival exchanges from being bought and sold on its historic trading floor in lower Manhattan.

The change took effect on Monday as part of a long-awaited upgrade of the NYSE’s systems. Now, Nasdaq -listed securities such as Apple or Kraft-Heinz, as well as any US exchange traded fund, can be traded on the NYSE’s flagship exchange for the first time.
