The New York Stock Exchange is in advanced talks with regulators to resurrect options trading at the exchange, almost a decade after it sold the business to a Chicago derivatives market.

One source close to the talks said: "New York is in the final round of discussions with the Securities and Exchanges Commission regarding the filing it will submit to start trading options.
