Odey Asset Management has launched its first hedge fund in over two years, rewarding one of its rising stars for the triple-digit returns he has generated since 2009.

Founder Crispin Odey has launched the Odey Absolute Return Focus Fund for James Hanbury, according to a person familiar with the matter, who said the move was an acknowledgement of Hanbury's strong performance with the Odey Absolute Return Fund.
