OFT backs down over LME trading hours

The Office of Fair Trading has backed down on a two-month old decision to ban the London Metal Exchange from extending its trading hours under anti-competition rules, citing "substantial and material new evidence".

The OFT's decision came yesterday, within hours of an appeal hearing by the LME.
