We've heard of brother double-acts in the investment banking business – the Zaoui brothers, who go nose-to-nose as heads of M&A at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, come to mind.
However, Lehman Brothers goes further than most. It has three sets of brothers on staff: the most senior pair are Mark Shafir, who joined last year from Merrill Lynch as global head of M&A, and his brother Robert, global co-head of equities. Next come Chris Wait, managing director and European co-head of global finance, and his brother Jarrett, managing director and global head of e-commerce. Further down the totem pole are the third pair, both in the fixed-income division: Joseph Nehorai, who joined last year, also from Merrill, as head of the European bond index group, and his brother Alex, in derivatives sales. Talk about keeping it in the family...
