Opra gears up for stakeholder pensions

The Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority (Opra) is gearing up to meet the additional responsibilities and costs involving the UK government's stakeholder pension.

When the new low-cost stakeholder pension comes in to force next April, Opra will have to ensure that all employers with five or more employees have stakeholder arrangements in place and have set up a payroll facility. Any employer who does not do this will be guilty of an offence.
