Oxley urged to broaden investment banking probe

House Committee to issue new subpoena to SSB

Congressman Michael Oxley, chairman of the US House Financial Services Committee, has come under pressure from one of the committee's senior members to expand its investigation into conflicts of interest in the investment banking industry.

Congressman John LaFalce, Democratic ranking member of the committee, has urged Oxley, a Republican, to investigate conflicts of interest more broadly than it is at the moment.
