Former Morgan Stanley capital markets star, lured to HSBC six years ago with a bumper pay package, has returned to the US bank

Daniel Palmer, the former co-head of global capital markets Asia Pacific at Morgan Stanley, who was hired by HSBC's then investment banking co-head John Studzinski in 2004 with a reported package of $15m, has returned to the US bank.

Palmer started at Morgan Stanley today as the head of international equity derivatives in global capital markets, based in London, according to a memo seen by Financial News.
