UK stockbroker Panmure Gordon has hired a former equity research lead at Nomura — the latest senior appointment under chief executive Ian Axe — as it looks to position itself for growth in a new era of European trading rules.

Bill Dale has been named director of research at Panmure, according to a statement from the group on Thursday. Dale will lead the expansion of Panmure's investment research business, including its coverage of small and mid-cap companies in the UK.
