Panmure Gordon, the City broker that is expanding its investment banking business, has hired nine people from struggling Cenkos Securities for a new team covering investment trusts.

The recruits include bankers, traders and sales staff, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News. The team will be co-lead by Sapna Shah in investment banking and Michael Janes and Tom Scrivens in sales.
