Parmalat targets Italian banks for €1bn

Enrico Bondi, administrator of the collapsed Italian foods group Parmalat is preparing to file a raft of lawsuits to claw back more than €1bn ($1.3bn) from dozens of Italian banks.

It marks the first time that the company has turned the spotlight on Italian financial institutions in its efforts to recover money. Bondi is expected to issue proceedings before Christmas.
