Partners Group is strengthening its presence in Italy by combining its operations with local buyout firm Perennius Capital Partners, a move that comes in stark contrast to the recent decisions by other private equity firms to close their offices in the country.

Swiss alternative asset investor Partners Group, which was founded by former Goldman Sachs bankers, said yesterday that it would "integrate" all its investment and client services in Italy with Perennius Capital Partners.
