Ian Chimes, head of European distribution at Credit Suisse Asset Management, had to take a guest to task last week for breaching health and safety regulations at the company's annual do.

Chimes, who was hosting the event at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane in east London, said someone had smuggled beer into the games arena, where journalists were challenging each other to sumo wrestling, laser shooting and riding on a mechanical bull.
