The two founders of hedge fund firm Marshall Wace are backing opposing sides in the Brexit referendum in a sign that, on some level, the City of London's finance community is just as split over the issue as the rest of the population.

Hedge fund pioneers Paul Marshall and Ian Wace are among the most renowned names in their industry, having started their firm nearly two decades ago but the pair will be on opposite sides on June 23 when voting takes place.
