Paulson nominee turns his back on Treasury post

The JP Morgan banker nominated by former Goldman Sachs chief executive Hank Paulson to be US Treasury Undersecretary has reportedly resigned the nomination over problems related to his financial portfolio.

The Treasury said in February it would nominate Timothy Ryan, vice-chairman of financial institutions and governments at JP Morgan, to by undersecretary for international affairs.
