The bonus pot for the most senior bankers at Credit Suisse rose by more 7% last year — but the average payout for individuals fell.

The Swiss bank paid its 1,070 material risk-takers — a select group of top employees whose actions can affect the risk profile of the bank — 963m Swiss francs ($1bn) in 2017, up 7.1% on the previous year.
