Heading south from Kyiv by car to the Moldovan border, private equity boss Alex Munteanu says the situation in Ukraine is like living in a nightmare.

“Today the whole world and our business in Ukraine went upside down,” said the 58-year-old, who fled the country’s capital on 24 February after being woken up to the sound of bombs exploding at a nearby airport.
