Antonio Pedersoli, a key figure in the formation of the Italian joint venture between Lazard and Banca Intesa, has quit as a director of Lazard Italia.

Pedersoli is the legal counsel to Banca Intesa and Italian banking sources said he advised it on the formation of its joint venture with Lazard in 2003.
