Trustees at Blyth & Blyth, the Scottish engineering company, have started legal proceedings against their former pension fund advisers after the company collapsed unable to pay scheme members.

The legal action against Mellon Human Resource & Investor Solutions, the actuarial firm formerly called Buck Consultants, is thought to be the first of its kind in the UK.
