Pension funds fight disclosure

Institutional investors claim greater transparency would lead to risk-aversion

Paul Myners' suggestion that a display of greater investment transparency by pension funds could be desirable has run up against strong opposition among institutional investors.

By and large, submissions have supported the status quo, although the idea of creating clued-up investment sub-committees within trust boards has frequently emerged.
