A majority of UK pensions professionals think the government should convene a public inquiry into the Equitable Life affair, according to a survey by a leading industry periodical.

According to a survey by Pensions Management, the specialist journal, 37 out of 60 pensions professionals agreed that there should be an inquiry to examine all aspects of the case. Nineteen of those surveyed said there was no need for an inquiry and four expressed no opinion.
