People aged over 40 next in line for UK’s Covid-19 vaccines

Scientists rejected an occupation-based approach, saying speed most important

The UK's vaccine committee said the next age group for vaccines will be those aged 40 to 49, followed by those aged over 30, and then all those aged over 18.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, which advises the government on the Covid-19 vaccine schedule, said the next phase of the UK’s vaccine rollout should still be “age-based” rather than allocated by occupation, with those aged over 40 to form the next band of priority jabs.
