PetroChina tops list of world’s most blacklisted companies

So-called ‘divestment’ policies climb political agenda as pressure from campaigners grows

Oil and gas giants from China and India dominate a list of the most blacklisted stocks, according to research by Financial News that comes as the world’s biggest investors face increasing pressure to dump holdings on non-financial grounds.

FN analysed the world’s 20 largest institutional investors that have divestment policies. They are all state-sponsored or public pension and sovereign funds in the US, Europe and Australia, and manage more than $4tn between them.
