Drug companies Pfizer and BioNTech have said that their BNT162b2 coronavirus vaccine showed 90% efficacy against Covid-19 in testing and could be rolled out this year.

The US and German drug companies said they expect to produce up to 50 million vaccine doses in 2020 and up to 1.3 billion doses in 2021.
