Pfizer captures Warner at last

Pfizer and Warner-Lambert ended their bitter takeover battle yesterday when Pfizer agreed to raise its bid to $90bn in stock, reports The Times.

Warner-Lambert's board accepted the new bid, a 10% increase on the sum originally proposed, even though it means Lodewijk de Vink, the Warner-Lambert chairman and chief executive, will lose his job.
