Hammond says reassuring business is most urgent job

Newly appointed Chancellor Philip Hammond said Thursday the country will move swiftly to set out broad goals for its post-Brexit relationship with the European Union, as he acknowledged the referendum to leave the bloc has shaken confidence and discouraged investment.

In an interview with the BBC, Hammond said that dispelling the uncertainty surrounding the U.K.'s economic future will be a central task in the months ahead if the country is to maintain the levels of investment needed to drive growth and jobs.
