Mark Pignatelli, the former chief investment officer at Schroder Investment Management, is planning to launch his own hedge fund in the next few months after stepping down from Schroder.

Pignatelli is understood to have started the authorisation process with the Financial Services Authority, and is aiming to launch an as yet unnamed hedge fund with two other partners this summer.
