Pimco has settled its breach-of-contract suit filed by former star manager Bill Gross for $81 million, people familiar with the matter have told The Wall Street Journal.

Gross abruptly left Pimco in September 2014 amid simmering tensions with his colleagues, and in 2015 sued the manager for at least $200 million in damages, alleging he was forced out. Gross intends to seek a dismissal Monday in California Superior Court, the people said.
