Fixed-income manager Pimco has hired a senior Italian fund manager to spearhead its push into the country.

Alessandro Gandolfi has joined Pimco as head of business development for Italy. He was formerly a director responsible for Italian institutional clients at the Milan-based asset management house Sanpaolo IMI Asset Management, now Eurizon Capital.
