Pimco, the specialist fixed income manager, has hired Michael Thompson as a vice-president of remarketing, the company's fastest-growing business in London. He joins from Western Asset Management and will manage Pimco's funds distribution in the UK and Ireland.

The remarketing team sells Pimco's products on a sub-advisory basis and also markets them to financial institutions, which use them as part of fund of funds, balanced or defined contribution products.
