Fixed income fund manager Pimco has recruited a new chief of UK institutional business, ending a nine-month search for a successor to the previous incumbent, who left to join Goldman Sachs Asset Management in September.

John Griffiths joins Pimco from Santander Global Banking & Markets, where he was head of pension fund development. Prior to his role at Santander, Griffiths was institutional sales manager at Invesco Asset Management for almost five years.
